December 2008 Snow
On December 19, 2008, following a heavy snow storm that had completely covered the railroad, the maintenance of way department (Rusty Collier, Tim Kreileber, Jeff Kepka and Greg Kepka) sprung into action. Using a large wedge plow designed and built by Laurence Johnson, quick work was made of the heavy white stuff. Thanks to Laurence for coming up with the right piece of equipment for the job! 2009 All-American RR Show in LaGrange, IL
On March 28, 2009, the Prairie State Railroad Club was represented at the All-American Railroad Show held at Lyons Township High School in La Grange, IL. This is the first time that the club has attended this show. Almost three hundred brochures were given out at this well-attended event.
Laurence Johnson visit 6/13/09
The Prairie State RR Club went "on the road" to visit the private pike operated by member Laurence Johnson at his home in north central Illinois. A great time was had by all!

Car Barn Improvements - 2nd level is now in!
Over the long Thanksgiving weekend of 2009, a group of PSRR volunteers lead by David Blanding and Rusty Collier put in the long-anticipated upper storage level.
September 2008 Gathering at Paul Andermann's
On September 27, 2008 members of the Prairie State RR Club joined with other area live steamers for an enjoyable day of pounding the miniature "high iron" at the home of Paul Andermann. Thanks to Paul, Steve Farmer, and their families for hosting a tremendous event!
