Chicago Aurora & DeKalb Interurban

The Chicago Aurora & DeKalb Railroad was an electric interurban line that connected Aurora and DeKalb via Kaneville, a small community located only a short distance away from our club's track in Big Rock. The line closed in 1924, making it the first of Illlinois' interurbans to end operations.

Sycamore Steam Show 2008

The Prairie State RR CLub had its start with operating a short demonstration track at the annual "steam show" held near Sycamore, IL by the Northern Illinois Steam Power Club. Here are a few vews from this year's event.
